Chairman, Asset Loan CompanyRob Borbidge, Asset Loan Co The Honourable Robert (Rob) BorbidgeNon-Executive Director, Asset Loan CoRobert Borbidge AO, born 12 August 1954 in Ararat, Victoria, and with his family moved to Queensland in 1977. He was the 35th Premier of Queensland, and leader of the Queensland branch of the National Party.
He has also served as a member of the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) and as a delegate to the 1998 Constitutional Convention. Since leaving politics, Rob Borbidge has become a Senior Associate of Strategic Communications Australia, a Queensland based corporate relations company with offices in Brisbane and Jakarta. He is Chairman of Rotec Pty Ltd ACN 007 747 060, a Brisbane based engineering firm that is developing emission reduction technology for diesel engines. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Asia Pacific Space Centre. As well as Chairman of the Executive Task force for the Institute of Glycomics at Griffith University, Rob Borbidge is a trustee of the Friends of Griffith University Foundation (incorporated in the United States). He was awarded the Centenary Medal in 2001. |

Rob Borbidge resigned from Parliament in March 2001 after nearly twenty years as MP for Surfers Paradise, on Queensland's Gold Coast. During this time he served as a Minister of the Crown in several portfolios, Deputy Leader of the Opposition, Leader of the Opposition and upon the re-election of a National Liberal Government, was sworn in as the 35th Premier of Queensland.
